Make sure your device is turned on. The Magic Mouse and Magic Mouse 2 have a slide switch on the bottom of the device. Slide the switch to turn on the device. On the Magic Mouse, the green LED briefly lights up. On the Magic Mouse 2, green coloring is visible beneath the switch.
3. Run the keyboard troubleshooter. Press Windows + I to launch the Settings app, and click on Troubleshoot on the right in the System tab. Next, click on Other troubleshooters. Locate the Keyboard troubleshooter and click on the Run button next to it.
Boot into Safe Mode. Locate the keys. For each sub-folder to the main key, do the following: Set the owner of the folder to Administrator. Un-check the box "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects". Hit apply. A new permission entry should pop up. Click the button "Enable inheritance". Hit apply again.
The only thing I found was a "Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center" program, which I downloaded and executed. The result was a message saying that it could not detect a microsoft device. I took the mouse off of another laptop (also running Windows 10, and the mouse, a Logitech, works just fine), plugged it into this laptop.
B. Uninstall - Uninstall > Reboot and the driver will be automatically installed. C. Update - Update Driver > Click Update Driver Software > Click Browse my computer for driver software > Click Let my pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Choose the driver > Click Next to update > Reboot. If this does not work, select Search
